Wrists have been slapped in the Michigan Wolverines sign-stealing scandal.
The university received a significant fine, and head coach Sherrone Moore is expected to serve a third one-game suspension sometime in the 2026 season after already slated to be out for Weeks 3 and 4 in the 2025 season.
But, thankfully, the school has avoided a postseason ban of any sorts, much to the delight of the players.
How Did the Players React to the Punishments?
In addition to their elation of still being in the playoff hunt, how else did the Wolverines react to the rulings?
According to linebackers coach Brian Jean-Mary, it's almost like it never happened to them.
"Kids are resilient. They didn't bat an eyelash. They didn't flinch. I think, and this is just me personally speaking, once they knew that this year they could go and chase every dream that they had, our guys were good. They were ready to rock and roll and go practice," Jean-Mary said. "I think [players] always prepare for the worst, but you couldn't tell from our players. And when we had a chance to tell them exactly what it was, like I said, they didn't flinch."
The Wolverines were 8-5 last year in their first season under Moore as a head coach, culminating in an exciting 19-13 bowl game victory over the Alabama Crimson Tide.
