The Michigan Wolverines have been known throughout the 21st century thus far to have consistently great defenses, and it has led to some notable production from some stars. With various defensive philosophies from the likes of Mike Macdonald, Don Brown, and Lloyd Carr, plenty of Wolverines were able to showcase their skills in hopes of leaving a lasting impact.
Tony Garcia of the Detroit Free Press sought to recognize some of these stars by releasing the Michigan football All-21st Century Team. The team consisted of two edges, two defensive tackles, two linebackers, one nickel back, two corner backs, and two safeties. Garcia also included a kicker and punter.
Here are the names that Garcia deemed as the best of the 2000's thus far:

These players were all listed on the First Team (there were two teams total). A handful of other notable players were also recognized, including EDGEs David Ojabo and Frank Clark; DTs Kris Jenkins and Alan Branch; LB Junior Colson; Nickel Dax Hill; CB DJ Turner; S Rod Moore; K Jake Moody.
Notable players left off the list include LB Devin Bush, EDGEs Rashan Gary, Kwity Paye, and Kenneth Grant, DT Mazi Smith, and S Joshua Mettellus.
