Is Jordon Hudson banned from UNC? What to know about Bill Belichick's girlfriend's status with football team image

As Bill Belichick has taken his Super Bowl-winning coaching wits to UNC, the biggest storyline following him hasn't exactly been football related.

His girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, has taken the spotlight in recent months, from a CBS interview where she chimed in, to her reportedly getting close to his involvement with the Tar Heels.

As of Friday, there's a chance that Hudson becomes less of a factor impacting Belichick while he's at UNC — reports indicated that she was banned from team facilities. The team then released a statement suggesting otherwise.

Is Jordon Hudson banned from UNC?

On Friday, Pablo Torre, the previous ESPN host and current host of "Pablo Torre Finds Out," shared on his podcast that two sources told him Hudson was recently banned from UNC facilities.

Torre said the decision was made last week by the "higher-ups" in the team's athletic department, who said Hudson is "no longer allowed in the football building, she is not allowed on the football field," and they "don't think you'll be hearing much from Jordon moving forward."

Torre then added that another source from the Belichick family told him: "There is deep worry for how detrimental Jordon can be for not just North Carolina but Bill's legacy, reputation — everything he has built and worked for over decades." He also said the "family has been digging into Jordon Hudson as well."

Torre's investigation is the latest development in the growing list of incidents involving Belichick, 73, and Hudson since he signed a $50 million deal to join the Tar Heels in December. She was spotted on UNC's practice field with Belichick, and she became a significant storyline when she interrupted a CBS interview to keep the subject of how she met Belichick off-limits.

The legendary coach then released a statement on the CBS interview. The Athletic also reported that Hudson was one of the reasons that HBO's "Hard Knocks" chose not to come to UNC.

TarHeelIllustrated's Andrew Jones then reported Friday that UNC has not banned Hudson, as Torre reported. Jones wrote that sources "very close to the situation" told him that  “of course she’s not banned from the facility.” Jones' report was backed by the Tar Heels' program shortly after in a released statement.

UNC statement on Jordon Hudson

Just hours after Torre spoke on his investigation into Hudson's status at UNC, the team released a statement Friday morning, denying that Hudson has been banned from its facilities.

"While Jordon Hudson is not an employee at the University or Carolina Athletics, she is welcome to the Carolina Football facilities," the team wrote. "Jordon will continue to manage all activities related to Coach Belichick’s personal brand outside of his responsibilities for Carolina Football and the University.”

In response, Torre wrote on social media that UNC can "now choose to describe or change its position on Jordon Hudson’s involvement however it wishes." He said that he requested comment from the program while he was investigating, "filed dozens of FOIA requests that were not satisfied," and that he stands by his reporting on the situation with Hudson.
