Could Penn State quarterback Drew Allar stay in the Quaker State? That’s what one mock drafter thinks.

In his latest mock draft, Pro Football Network’s Brentley Weissman has Allar going at pick 19 to the Pittsburgh Steelers, likely to replace newly signed 41-year-old QB Aaron Rodgers.

Though Rodgers just announced his intentions to join the Steelers last week, his contract is only for one year. Combined with his age and annual will-he-or-won’t-he-retire speculation, it is fair to assume the Steelers are still going to be looking for a QB of the future.

Here is what Weissman had to say about it:

“Despite the team passing on a quarterback in last year’s draft, the Steelers are highly anticipated to target one in 2026, given the strong potential of that year’s draft class,” Weissman wrote. “Drew Allar is a strong bet to be drafted in the first round and could go as high as the top three with a strong year. While many draft analysts question Allar, he is a high upside prospect who has all the potential in the world. With his arm talent, athleticism and size, NFL teams will covet him.”

As Weissman mentioned, Allar has the potential to go much earlier than pick 19. It is also worth noting that Weissman had Allar as the fifth QB taken, which could be considered a pessimistic outlook on Allar’s potential.

While it may seem more likely that Allar will go much earlier, should he have a bit of a letdown season compared to his contemporaries (or the Steelers falter more than expected with an aging QB), it could be a perfect match in Pittsburgh.
