Cowboys-Bears trade pitch sends ex-Penn State star Micah Parsons to Chicago image

After former Penn State star Micah Parsons requested a trade from the Dallas Cowboys, there's an argument to be made that nearly every team in the NFL would be interested in trading for him. It's a bit questionable why the Cowboys are doing what they're doing, but the same could be said for many of the decisions that Jerry Jones has made over the past few years.

Regardless, Parsons should eventually find himself in a better situation. Whether it be getting paid by the Cowboys or on a new team, Parsons is clearly one of the top three edge rushers in the NFL, at worst.

When looking at potential trades, Max Dible of Heavy Sports proposed an intriguing one with the Chicago Bears. He noted that if the Cowboys aren't willing to pay Parsons, the Bears should be. Dible added that the team could justify giving up multiple first-round picks to get the deal done.

“But if Dallas really isn’t interested in paying Parsons like the best defensive player in the NFL, several opposing teams will be. Among them should be the Bears, who are missing the exact type of game-swinging defensive playmaking that Parsons has proven to provide over his four-year career…

“As such, Chicago is among the teams that could justify giving up first-round picks in 2026 and 2027, as well as a second-rounder next season, to fill in the last and largest gap on the roster by dealing for a generational talent like Parsons,” he wrote.

Parsons has continued to prove over the past few years why he was as highly regarded at Penn State and other stops throughout his career as he's been.

He's only continued to get better in the NFL, too, posting 52.5 sacks over his first four seasons.
