Deion Sanders made a promise to his son, Shilo.

If Shilo Sanders ran the 40-yard dash in a time in the 4.4-second window on Friday at Colorado's pro day, Deion would buy Shilo a new car.

The defensive back put his all into a pair of 40s, but he won't be leaving Colorado with a brand new set of wheels.

Shilo Sanders' 40 times came in at 4.59 and 4.52 seconds. So, so close.

There's one video that shows Shilo might've left a little time on the board, too:

Shilo's a legitimate NFL defensive back prospect. On a pick-six during his Colorado career, he returned the ball for a touchdown at a max speed of 21.5 miles per hour, which suggests he could've run his 40 in the 4.4s.

Pretty soon, Shilo will likely have a pro contract that could get himself a new set of wheels. But it wasn't meant to be on Friday.
