Clemson's Cade Klubnik beats out 4 SEC QBs to be named best quarterback in country image

There's no question that Clemson quarterback Cade Klubnik is one of the best in the country.

But how about the best?

That's what The Athletic determined in a comprehensive ranking of all 136 starting FBS quarterbacks in the country.

Klubnik is No. 1.

He beat out four SEC passers, too. From Nos. 2-5, the list goes LSU's Garrett Nussmeier, South Carolina's LaNorris Sellers, Oklahoma's John Mateer and Florida's DJ Lagway.

Other notables on the ranking:

  • No. 6 Drew Allar, Penn State
  • No. 10 Arch Manning, Texas
  • No. 12 Carson Beck, Miami
  • No. 19 Nico Iamaleava, UCLA
  • No. 32 Julian Sayin, Ohio State
  • No. 40 Dylan Raiola, Nebraska
  • No. 50 Bryce Underwood, Michigan
  • No. 52 Kaidon Salter, Colorado

There are a lot of good quarterbacks.

It's quite the honor for Klubnik to be considered above the rest.

He may wind up in that spot on the NFL Draft board in April 2026, too.
