The Chicago Bears once made a blockbuster deal for Khalil Mack.

Although the Bears haven't had everything go as planned over the past decade, or perhaps even longer, the team may be on the verge of finding success in the near future.

Some believe they need some extra help, and that's where former Penn State standout Micah Parsons could come into play. Parsons recently requested a trade from the Dallas Cowboys, and if the Penn State star wants to play for a new organization like he says he does, Chicago could entice him.

The Athletics' Kevin Fishbain recently proposed an idea for him to be sent there, making the same exact trade that the Bears made for Mack in 2018.

“Bears trade 2026 first-round pick, 2027 first-round pick, 2027 third-round pick, 2027 sixth-round pick to Cowboys for Parsons, 2027 fourth-round pick, 2027 seventh-round pick

“This offer is the same as Mack, but the Bears get a fourth-round pick back instead of a second. Why not do it again? Well, a few reasons. They’ve already invested a lot of money in the defensive line (Montez Sweat, Dayo Odeyingbo and Grady Jarrett). They could stand to be a little more patient and let QB Caleb Williams grow into this offense as opposed to forgoing so much draft capital to kick off the Ben Johnson era. Then again, if Johnson thinks they’re a Micah Parsons away,” he wrote.

It's tough to say that Parsons isn't a better player than Mack in some sense, but it also might be unfair to say so.

Both are elite in their own right, but this is the type of trade that could make sense for the Bears. Chicago is in a position to start competing in the near future, and Parsons would speed up that process.
