The Philadelphia 76ers are looking for a bounce back season next year after a porous 24-58 record in 2024-25.
Guard Tyrese Maxey has been enjoying his offseason. Earlier this week, the one-time All-Star went on Instagram Live to show 76ers fans his more personable side away from the basketball court.
Naturally, trolls online teased Maxey for not working out and choosing to goof off instead. Maxey responded with a playful tweet.
“I’ve been in the lab since may 13th no break … i got two days off time to have some fun,” Maxey wrote on X followed by a laughing emoji.
Of course, Maxey has actually been working out this offseason, and is merely messing around with fans on the internet who are quick to jump to conclusions.
Maxey himself is looking for a bounce back season individually after an injury-riddled 2024-25 campaign. Maxey played in just 52 games last season, averaging 26.3 points, and 6.1 assists per game. In a way that no one could have predicted five years ago, the 24-year-old has ascended into one of the better point guards in the NBA, jumping from 8.0 points per game in his rookie season, to his new career-high mark last season.
The 76ers will certainly be grateful to have their core of Maxey, Embiid, and Paul George back on the court healthy next season. After a weird season marred by injuries and inconsistent results, the 76ers figure to be back in the playoff mix next season.
