The Thunder (1-2) and the Nuggets (2-1) will lock horns against each other in Game 4 of their second round NBA Playoff series on Sunday at Ball Arena in Denver.
The Denver Nuggets edged past the Oklahoma City Thunder 113-104 in an overtime thriller Friday night, seizing a 2-1 lead in their Western Conference semifinal showdown and setting the stage for a pivotal Game 4 clash.
For the second time this series, the Nuggets leaned on their battle-tested blueprint: keep it tight, execute down the stretch, and let their playoff poise shine in crunch time. And despite facing a statistical mountain, they climbed their way to victory.
The Thunder took 19 more shots, dominated the glass with 18 offensive rebounds to Denver's 5, and cashed in 16 turnovers for 20 points. But Denver answered with surgical efficiency, hitting 40% from beyond the arc to offset Oklahoma City’s 38.5% overall shooting and woeful 25.7% clip from deep.
Jamal Murray was simply unstoppable, pouring in a team-high 27 points on 9-of-19 shooting, including 2-of-5 from three, lighting up the Thunder's defensive stalwarts like Lu Dort, Cason Wallace, and Alex Caruso.
