Over the past few months, the Milwaukee Bucks’ future has been uncertain.
With Giannis Antetokounmpo’s potential trade request on the horizon, the Bucks must find a way to keep their superstar happy. Throughout his career, the Bucks have typically made a big move each time the rumors start swirling around him moving on.
However, this offseason has seemed a bit different than the others. Antetokounmpo doesn’t seem interested in leaving, and he hasn’t said anything to indicate otherwise. Still, the Bucks’ flexibility to make a big deal this offseason to get back into title contention is limited.
With Damian Lillard’s torn Achilles set to have a significant impact on the team next season, the Bucks might be wise to move on from the veteran point guard. Instead, there could be a way for Milwaukee to make a run at another star to pair with Antetokounmpo.
In a trade recently proposed by Bleacher Report’s Greg Swartz, there is a way to land Trae Young in Milwaukee. In this deal, the Bucks would send Damian Lillard to Washington with a couple of second-round picks, while they would send Atlanta Tyler Smith and three first-round picks. Meanwhile, the Wizards would also be sending Jordan Poole, Marcus Smart and Andre Jackson Jr. to the Hawks.
This deal could obviously give Antetokounmpo a star teammate in Young, who averaged 24.2 points and 11.6 assists last season. Meanwhile, it could give Washington some future flexibility and allow the Hawks a runway into a rebuild in a post-Young era.

Sure, any deal that lands Antetokounmpo another star teammate this offseason could seem far-fetched with the Bucks’ situation. But Milwaukee has shown over and over that it is willing to make big moves to keep its superstar happy.
