The Milwaukee Bucks have some issues, but it might not take a miracle to fix them.
Despite all of the negativity in Milwaukee after the Bucks’ season ended in the first round for the third straight time, they still have Giannis Antetokounmpo. With all signs pointing to the two-time MVP sticking around, there is no reason to panic in Milwaukee.
With the possibility of co-star Damian Lillard being back in time for a potential playoff run in 2026 in a wide-open Eastern Conference, the Bucks might only need to make some simple moves to get back to contention. It could also make perfect sense to bring in a player who has been on a championship run.
While Milwaukee tried to get a player like that the last time they traded with the Washington Wizards, the second time may be the charm. Jordan Poole might be the perfect fit for the Bucks, especially if they could get him at a decent price.
The 2022 NBA champion is set to make $31.8 million next season, which would ironically make Kyle Kuzma the centerpiece of any trade. Considering Washington has promising young stars such as Bub Carrington and Bilal Coulibaly who could use some more touches, Poole could be a sort of addition by subtraction in terms of development for the Wizards.
On the other end, the Bucks absolutely need someone comfortable with a lot of touches alongside Antetokounmpo. Poole could fit that mold perfectly as he is coming off a season where he averaged 20.5 points and 4.5 assists on a team-leading 15.5 shots per game.

While a deal for Poole might not necessarily solve all of Milwaukee’s problems, he would at least provide the Bucks with a dynamic backcourt player to pair with Antetokounmpo.
