The offseason has been quiet thus far in Milwaukee, but that won’t last much longer.

Since the Bucks were eliminated in the first round by the Indiana Pacers, they’ve spent two months dealing with nonstop rumors about Giannis Antetokounmpo’s future. With free agency just around the corner, it appears that Antetokounmpo is content in Milwaukee for the time being.

Of course, his goal is to win another NBA championship, and he needs a team around him capable of competing at that level. While Damian Lillard will miss most of next season, Antetokounmpo could still help lead the Bucks into the playoffs with the right group around him.

However, it might be difficult for Milwaukee to find a core capable of supporting Antetokounmpo. The Bucks were already in a rough spot when it comes to making trades for potential role players, but they will also have to find ways to potentially replace their departing free agents.

One of the Bucks set to hit the open market this summer is Gary Trent Jr. The sharpshooter was a critical player for the Bucks in the playoffs and shot 41.6% from deep throughout the regular season.

With a couple of big outbursts in the playoffs, Trent was well on his way to being a fan favorite in Milwaukee. However, he was only on a one-year deal, and Bleacher Report’s Greg Swartz suggested that the Houston Rockets could be a perfect suitor for him this summer.

The Rockets were among the worst shooting teams in the league last season and could use some extra spacing around recently acquired Kevin Durant. While the Bucks would likely love to keep him around, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Trent pick Durant’s situation in Houston over sticking around in Milwaukee with Antetokounmpo.
