The Milwaukee Bucks have been one of the most active teams this NBA offseason after failing to win a playoff series for the second consecutive season.
Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo showed that he was willing to move on from Milwaukee in pursuit of a team that is more of a championship contender.
Milwaukee took this seriously and made moves that included the release of Damian Lillard this offseason to clear cap space in signing Myles Turner.
Sam Quinn of CBS Sports believes that the Bucks could pursue a scoring-first guard that can help Antetokounmpo stay satisfied in Milwaukee. The trade would send the Brooklyn Nets' Cam Thomas to Milwaukee in exchange for Kyle Kuzma.
"The Bucks would have to trade Kyle Kuzma to match money on a potential contract... Perhaps Milwaukee could grease the wheels with an unprotected first-round swap in 2032? That would leave their 2031 first-rounder available for another trade now and ensure that their 2033 first-round pick would be tradable next offseason as well, and as the Nets have two first-round picks in 2032, they could arrange the swap so that it applies to either of their picks," Quinn said in an article on July 24.
After Thomas rejected a two-year, $28 million deal offered by the Nets as a restricted free agent, he is reportedly looking for a four-year deal that would look to be around $100 million a year.
Kyle Kuzma's contract still has him getting paid almost $43 million over the next two seasons, and his fit with the Bucks has been in question after averaging just 5.8 points and 2.2 rebounds in Milwaukee's playoff series loss to the Indiana Pacers last season.
