The Milwaukee Bucks are set for an important season, but it doesn’t look too promising.
Over the past few weeks, the Bucks have seemingly kept Giannis Antetokounmpo happy enough to stick around through next season. However, there is still a chance that their superstar could force his way out at any point if he believes the team isn’t capable of winning a title.
Of course, with the roster Milwaukee has now, that could soon be a reality. In a recent article from Bucks on SI, Ryan Stano predicted the Bucks’ rotation for next season.
While there were some obvious choices, such as Antetokounmpo and Myles Turner in the starting frontcourt and some competition in the backcourt with a handful of potential options, the small forward position could be the most concerning. As Stano wrote, that spot will likely belong to Kyle Kuzma, simply because the Bucks need to turn last season’s trade into a success.
Last season, Kuzma was added midseason in a trade for Khris Middleton. While the swap made some sense, Kuzma’s half-season in Milwaukee was nothing short of a disaster. Add in an awful postseason performance, and there was plenty of noise from Bucks fans about not wanting him back for next season.
As the 2025-26 season nears, Kuzma is still on the roster and still in a position to play a significant role next season. Although there is still some hope that the 2020 NBA champion can overcome his struggles from last season, it will be hard to have any optimism about Kuzma until he proves himself on the court.
