This is set to be a wild offseason for many teams, and the Milwaukee Bucks could be losing a key starter.
Over the past few years in Milwaukee, there have been few constants. Jrue Holiday and Khris Middleton have been shipped out. The Bucks are on their third coach in the past three years and have had almost no continuity on the wing.
Despite all of that, anyone who went to a Bucks game in 2025 would have still seen a very familiar frontcourt rotation. With superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo still leading the way, and Brook Lopez and Bobby Portis as his typical frontcourt partners, there was still some way to see the 2021 title team in action.
However, even that could change this offseason, with some momentum building toward Brook Lopez looking at his options in free agency. According to a report from Jake Fischer, one of his former teams could be in the mix for the big man.
Fischer reported that the Lakers have been looking into going after the big man and have been intrigued with him for quite some time. That makes sense considering Lopez played for the Lakers in 2017-18 and has been seen as a player who got away in the years since.

As a pick-and-pop big man who can also protect the paint, he could be a solid fit alongside LeBron James and Luka Doncic. Although he isn’t necessarily the lob threat for Doncic that the Lakers are expected to target, he brings a veteran presence inside with championship experience, which could go a long way in helping the Lakers become a title contender.
