The Houston Rockets were recently booted from the first round of the 2025 NBA Playoffs at the hands of the Golden State Warriors.
In their highly-anticipated Game 7 matchup against the dynastic organization on Sunday night, Stephen Curry, Buddy Hield and Jimmy Butler took over in enemy territory to grab a 103-89 victory and advance to the Western Conference Semi-Finals.
Houston's Amen Thompson served as the brightest of bright spots in their demoralizing loss, as the 22-year-old, spring-loaded star finished the contest with 24 points, nine rebounds and three assists while shooting 56.3% from the field in 37 minutes.
After witnessing their No. 4 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft ascend to become a legitimate star on the postseason stage, the Rockets' front office could look to pull off a massive trade to further build around the promising forward.
In fact, recent updates indicate that Houston may contact the Phoenix Suns this offseason concerning the availability of their 4-time All-Star guard Devin Booker.
"Booker has been the proverbial apple of Houston's eye for a while," Bleacher Report's Zach Buckley wrote Monday.

"When you think about the kind of player who could get this offense rolling, you picture someone like him."
"While he hasn't booked a ton of playoff trips, he has thrive under the bright lights upon arrival. And since he's still only 28 years old, his addition wouldn't put too much win-right-this-second heat on Houston's young core."
Booker wrapped up his 10th NBA campaign in 2024-25 with a Suns team that compiled a brutal 36-46 regular season record, as the group missed out on the Play-In Tournament as the Western Conference's No. 11 seed.
Phoenix has been adamant that they will not let go of the elite shot-maker this offseason, though it may be in their best interests to do so in an effort to get a head start on a long-winded rebuild.
The 6-foot-6 shooting guard contributed 25.6 points, 7.1 assists and 4.1 rebounds for a struggling Phoenix roster, and his incredible mix of mid-range shooting and improved facilitating skills would hypothetically be a perfect match next to Houston's defensive-minded Thompson.
On the offensive end, the threat of Booker's jump-shot could open up lanes for the high-flier with relative ease, possibly transforming the Rockets' offense into one of the best in the Association.
If he were to be dealt in any scenario, the Rockets would need to be comfortable with unloading plenty of their most coveted young pieces like Reed Sheppard, Jabari Smith Jr. and Cam Whitmore along with first-round draft capital.
Still, the idea of Booker leaving the only franchise he's ever known via trade in the coming months remains highly unlikely.
