The Houston Rockets are set for another big season, and an unsung hero could swing things on and off the court.

Since trading James Harden, the Rockets had been one of the worst teams in the NBA. However, that all changed last season when they finally broke through and made the playoffs for the first time in five years.

Although Houston’s ascension ended in a first-round exit, the rise to the West’s second seed was enough for the Rockets to make a big move this offseason and trade for Kevin Durant. Of course, one of the biggest keys to Houston becoming one of the league’s best was its double-big lineup, headlined by Steven Adams’ inclusion in the starting five.

Adams, now on his fourth team, has been a fan favorite at every stop. As one of the league’s best rebounders and arguably the NBA’s strongest man, there aren’t many forces as powerful as Adams on the inside.

Along with his play winning fans over, Adams’ fun personality and New Zealand accent make him a unique character in the NBA. Those traits are part of why Bleacher Report’s Grant Hughes recently wrote that Adams should start a podcast.

As Hughes noted, Adams would have no shortage of stories after growing up as part of a massive family in New Zealand and also having over a decade of experience in the NBA. With some fun podcast appearances throughout the past few years on various shows, it’s clear that Adams could pick up the microphone and take off without any issues if he ever wants to.
