The Denver Nuggets have earned recognition as one of the clear winners of the 2025 NBA offseason.

Denver's revamped front office has pulled out all the stops to supply their 3-time NBA MVP Nikola Jokić with suitable help, and their latest free agency decision saw the franchise welcome a veteran 3-point marksman and solid role player aboard on Thursday.

"The Denver Nuggets have signed free agent guard/forward Tim Hardaway Jr. to a contract, Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations Ben Tenzer and Executive Vice President of Player Personnel Jonathan Wallace announced today," Nuggets PR shared Thursday afternoon.

"The 33-year-old California native was selected with the 24th overall pick by the New York Knicks in the 2013 NBA Draft after playing three seasons at the University of Michigan."

"He appeared in 107 games (all starts) and was named to the 2010-11 Big Ten All-Freshman Team and the 2012-13 All-Big Ten First Team as a junior. Hardaway Jr. is the son of Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame member and former Denver Nugget Tim Hardaway."

"Hardaway Jr. will wear #10 for the Nuggets."

Following the conclusion of his 12th NBA campaign as a member of the Detroit Pistons in 2024-25, Tim Hardaway Jr. will be heading to the Nuggets on a one-year, $3.6 million contract.

As a member of the playoff-bound Pistons last season, the 33-year-old sharpshooter contributed 11.0 points and 2.4 rebounds while knocking down 36.8% of his 5.9 attempts from three-point range.

After being selected with the No. 24 overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft by the New York Knicks, the offensive-minded guard went on to place top-10 in Sixth Man of the Year voting on three separate occasions, once with the Atlanta Hawks in 2017 (10th place) and twice with the Dallas Mavericks in 2021 (fifth place) and 2024 (ninth place).

The Nuggets have made a concerted effort to surround Jokić with capable shooting threats this offseason, and Hardaway Jr. will slot into head coach David Adelman's rotation as a key reserve and go-to three-point specialist.

With the Nuggets aiming to compete for an NBA title in 2025-26, Hardaway Jr.'s postseason experience can help to elevate the team's ever-improving bench unit next season.
