The Dallas Mavericks have been one of the most interesting teams in the league, and they could soon make another massive move.

Over the past few months, there has been nothing but chaos surrounding the Mavericks. After GM Nico Harrison made the decision to trade Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers, nothing has gone according to plan.

However, getting Cooper Flagg with the No. 1 pick and making some solid moves around the edges still has Dallas on the brink of contending in a tough Western Conference. With Doncic now in Los Angeles, the Mavericks are in need of a superstar to lead their team, and they might just be able to come away with the biggest name in the league.

With LeBron James’ future looking uncertain in Los Angeles, the Mavericks have been viewed as a potential suitor for the four-time champion. In a recent Bleacher Report article, Zach Buckley tabbed the Mavericks as a landing spot for James.

While the Mavericks reportedly only have interest in James as a free agent after a buyout, there is still a way to acquire him through trade if that avenue never materializes. As Buckley noted, there is still a path to Dallas getting James without losing any of Anthony Davis, Kyrie Irving or Cooper Flagg.

Although that path is quite difficult and would gut the Mavericks’ depth, it might all be worth it to get arguably the greatest player in league history in Dallas. There is still plenty of time left in this offseason, and that means there’s still a chance that James plays his next NBA game as a Dallas Maverick.
