Getting traded doesn't just have an impact on fans. For somebody like Luka Doncic, while Dallas Mavericks fans will be upset about that trade for the rest of their life, no matter how many championships the team wins, they weren't the only ones who were impacted by it.

Doncic certainly felt it, and the comments that Nico Harrison and the rest of the Mavericks higher-ups made after the trade likely weren't easy to hear, either.

However, according to Lara Beth Seager, Doncic’s manager, the superstar has moved on.

It's tough to hear that Doncic feels like this, given all he did in a Mavericks jersey, but he also has to do that for himself. Doncic can't continue to stay in the past, as it'll be much more difficult for fans to move on from it than he did.

Doncic just signed a nice new contract and still gets to live in Los Angeles at the end of the day.

“He’s moved on,” Seager said to The Athletic.

Because Doncic is still as young as he is, despite having LeBron James on the roster, the Lakers could take a bit of a different approach, trying to wait to win and get more assets.

However, according to Seager, the team doesn't want to wait, and neither does Doncic. He wants to win right now, a goal he’s pursued since arriving in Los Angeles.

“I think it was always known that, when Luka was traded here, it’s, ‘He’s here now,’” she said. “He wants to win where he is, and it’s important that he wins and that we’re working together with the team so we’re not waiting. His mindset has never been to hop around. His mindset is to win the championship.”
