The Mavericks' associate head coach Sean Sweeney left Dallas to take a job in San Antonio.
This leaves an open spot for the Mavs that they'll have to fill this offseason.
Even with reports of Sweeney leaving Dallas being announced Sunday, there's already a potential candidate for the job that would make sense for all parties involved.

What NBA champion could Dallas hire as their next associate head coach?
Michael Scotto of HoopsHype reported that the Mavericks could look to add a former NBA champion head coach to Jason Kidd's bench.
That former champion would be Frank Vogel.
Vogel and Kidd have crossed paths before.
Frank Vogel was the head coach of the 2020 Lakers team that won the NBA Finals.

Kidd was on Vogel's staff that year as one of his assistants.
His two years with the Lakers helped him get a head coach job eventually in Dallas.
The roles could be reversed now if Kidd hired Vogel to be the associate head coach of Mavs next year.

The Mavs are expected to add Cooper Flagg to an already talented roster, which gives Dallas big expectations going into next season.
Vogel could be a great addition to the roster, with recent coaching success and experience in the NBA.
