The Bulls enter this offseason in rebuild mode, but could still be selling some of their quality players on the trade market.

Nikola Vucevic has been the hot name in trade rumors, but Lonzo Ball could be the next player to get a lot of traction across the league.

Why is Lonzo Ball going to be shopped this offseason?

NBA insider Evan Sidery of Forbes reported the news on Ball, tweeting this:

After signing a two-year, $20 million extension in February, Lonzo Ball is expected to be made available in trade talks by the Bulls.

Ball’s $10 million annual salary, which includes a team option for 2026-27, is easily digestible for contending teams in need of guard depth.

Sidery makes some good points, as many teams that are contending/borderline contenders are looking for point guards.

A team like the Mavericks could trade for Ball and have him start while Irving is out, and slide him into a backup role later in the season.

Ball's cheaper contract for the potential he can have is worth the risk, compared to less established guards at different price points on the current market.

Especially for a short-term fit, Ball can help both himself and the team he is traded to, as excelling in a new role with a competitive team could earn him his next contract elsewhere.

The Kings and Clippers should inquire about Ball, as they have already voiced interest in trading for guards this offseason such as Jrue Holiday.
