The Toronto Blue Jays got some bummer news this week when rising star outfielder Nathan Lukes got a concussion.
The Blue Jays have placed Lukes on the 7-day concussion list.
In a corresponding move, the Blue Jays are promoting Will Robertson as a replacement outfielder.
Robertson, 27, finally earns his first crack at the big leagues.
It's been a long journey for the former fourth-round pick of Toronto back in 2019.
He never really hit at even a league average rate through 2022.
But in 2023, he put up a wRC+ of 118, 18 percent better than league average in Double-A. He hit 19 homers in 103 games.

That earned him a shot at Triple-A full-time in 2024, but he was again a below average hitter.
This season, though, Robertson is crushing the ball. He has 12 home runs in 188 plate appearances. His OPS is .992 thanks to a triple-slash line of .288/.410/.582.
The left-handed hitter has a ridiculous wRC+ of 159, which means he has hit 59 percent better than league average in Triple-A.
Robertson may not stick around long, but it definitely appears he's figured something out.
The Blue Jays already have Anthony Santander and Daulton Varsho injured, too, so Robertson is as good a shot as anyone to get a crack.
It's cool regardless of what happens, because Robertson didn't stop grinding and put in the work to earn an MLB roster spot that didn't always seem likely.
