The Major League Baseball trade deadline is less than three full days away, and the Toronto Blue Jays hold a 63-44 record, which is suitable for the best record in the American League.
Toronto will be buying at this week's deadline, and the team could use another outfielder.
On Monday, reports dropped that the Cleveland Guardians' All-Star closer Emmanuel Clase would be put on paid leave through August 31st as part of a gambling investigation.
Now the Guardians can't trade Clase, which means they could sell other players they weren't willing to, and Matthew Sookram from Fansided thinks the Blue Jays should try to trade for Cleveland's outfielder Steven Kwan.
"27-year-old left fielder Steven Kwan was listed as a trade target for several teams by ESPN earlier this month. Kwan could bring legitimate leadoff hitting skills to the top of the Blue Jays lineup," Sookram wrote. "The left-handed hitting Kwan has a 3.3 bWAR, slashing .285/.350/.411 with a 112 OPS+. He has more walks than strikeouts (39:37) and owns a whiff rate of 9.1, which is in the 100th percentile, and his chase rate of 22.3 is in the 83rd percentile."

Kwan is on $4 million contract and has two more years left of control after this season, so the Blue Jays wouldn't be getting a rental.
Kwan has made back-to-back All-Star games and has been Cleveland's second-best hitter the last few years behind José Ramírez, so it will probably take a lot to get Kwan from the Guardians.
