Is this the year that the Blue Jays finally win the American League East?
Every team in the AL East has won the division since Toronto last captured the crown in 2015; in fact, the Blue Jays have won the AL East just once since winning the World Series in 1993.
But the odds are certainly in their favor entering the final stretch of the 2025 season. Toronto hasn't ceded the division lead since sweeping a four-game series from the Yankees at the beginning of July.
Among the many positive developments of late, the Blue Jays starts are looking more like their dominant selves. Shortstop Bo Bichette is hitting .346 with a .943 OPS since the All-Star break, only to be outdone by first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr., who is hitting .376 with a 1.131 OPS since the break. That undoubtedly bodes well for Toronto, which entered play on Thursday 4.5 games clear of the second-place Red Sox.
They'll look to keep it up this weekend, with a three-game set against the Rangers beginning on Friday. The Sporting News has everything that you need to know about streaming the game.
