The Seattle Mariners could use a bit of help.

They've got a lot of talent but have underwhelmed in the win column at times this season.

MLB.com's Mark Feinsand still thinks they should make a trade to try and improve their team. He pitches a deal for Rockies righty Jake Bird, a stud reliever.

"The Rockies should try to sell any player who draws interest, but the club doesn’t have many attractive pieces to shop," Feinsand writes. "Bird is one of the exceptions; the 29-year-old has a 2.23 ERA in 40 1/3 innings and comes with three additional years of club control."

That additional club control is nearly as valuable as Bird's current ability. Because the Mariners are in a bit of a bumpy spot, it's good to know Bird will be around past this season.

The 6-foot-3 Bird has broken out this season after not having an ERA below 4 in any of his three prior MLB campaigns.

He's certainly earned himself a ticket out of Colorado after all the chaos on the worst team in baseball.

The Mariners' chances of salvaging this season aren't as high as they could be, but another big-time reliever would help for sure.
