Man, hitting is hard.
You could pick out hundreds of MLB pitches every day that prove that. San Francisco Giants ace Logan Webb provided the one we'll focus on here.
Pitching on Thursday afternoon, the right-handed Webb matched up with Guardians superstar Jose Ramirez, who was batting from the left side.
Webb threw his two-seam fastball at 92 miles per hour, starting at Ramirez's hip.
And then the ball tailed two feet, an actual 24 inches, back onto the plate for a strike.

That's ridiculous. That's like a Greg Maddux special, except with even more tailing action on the heater.
It was a good sign for Webb. He threw seven innings, struck out nine and allowed just a lone run in a 2-1 Giants win.
Webb lowered his season ERA to 2.49 with the dominant outing, and if he keeps throwing pitches like that, the ERA could drop even further.
