The Los Angeles Dodgers lost a heartbreaker on Tuesday against the Los Angeles Angels. While Shohei Ohtani blasted a go-ahead home run in the ninth inning, Nolan Schanuel hit one to tie it in the bottom of the inning. The Halos then went on to hold the Blue Crew at the top of extras and won the game during the bottom half, thanks to a Jo Adell RBI single.
The Dodgers would go on to lose the game 6-7, bringing their record to 68-52. They have struggled since July 4, going just 12- 20 during that stretch. They have now allowed for the San Diego Padres to take a share of the lead in the National League West.
Dodgers fans are trying to figure out what is going wrong with their club, while players like Max Muncy are ready to dig themselves out of this hole. He spoke about his team's struggles and what they need to do to turn things around, via Gabe Smallson.
"It's not going well for us right now. We got to find a way to snap out of it. No one's going to feel sorry for us. So it's on us to find our way out of it, and we need to do it," said Muncy. I'll let you guys scoreboard watch for me. You've heard me say it a million times: we try to focus on what's going on here and on this field. We don't worry about what's going on anywhere else. It sucks, but we have to focus on ourselves."
Muncy knows they cannot focus on what the Padres are doing. They need to keep their focus on the opponents in front of them. However, these two teams will meet for a three-game series starting this Friday.
