Despite tallying a 10-4 record, a 2.90 ERA, and 115 strikeouts in as many innings, Houston Astros Framber Valdez didn’t make the cut for the 2025 MLB All-Star Game in Atlanta.
MLB insider Jon Heyman posted his snubs from the MidSummer Classic, and of course, Valdez finds his name there along with Cristopher Sanchez, Seiya Suzuki, Michael Busch, Juan Soto, Ranger Suarez, Kodai Senga, Joe Ryan, George Springer and Trea Turner.

Valdez's All-Star case is strong, but it seems like his early-season debacle cost him a spot. After a tough outing on May 2 (ERA spiked to 4.39), the right-hander has been impressive, remaining unbeaten in his subsequent 11 starts, averaging 6.7 innings and holding a sparkling 2.07 ERA during that stretch.
His 139 ERA+ (career-high) represents elite-level production, but the voters favored others like Kris Bubic and Bryan Woo, probably based on less nuanced analytics.
