San Diego (38-29) is still looking up to the vaunted Dodgers, after dropping a high-octane series at Petco Park earlier this week. Still, the Padres boast plenty of firepower, with veteran third baseman Manny Machado hitting .325 with a .904 OPS.
This is the first matchup between the two divisional foes this season; San Diego helped keep Arizona out of the playoffs in 2024, beating the D'backs in two out of three games to close the regular season.
