The New York Yankees have been one of the surprise teams in Major League Baseball this season, even though they played in the World Series last year.

During the spring, New York lost one of the best pitchers, Gerrit Cole, for the year due to Tommy John surgery, but the Yankees have not slowed down without him.

New York currently sits with a record of 41-25 and is one of the favorites to win the World Series this fall.

If the Yankees want to win their first World Series since 2009, they will need to improve in the infield. Jim Bowden of The Athletic thinks the team could trade for Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette.

The only issue is that the Blue Jays are a division rival of the Yankees, and Toronto currently holds a 38-30 record, which means they could be a playoff team this fall.

Bichette is in the final year of his three-year, $33 million contract, so the Blue Jays might want to consider moving him, as it's a long shot that he will be back in Toronto next season. However, the Yankees are probably not the most realistic choice.

New York should have a load of options at the trade deadline this season, and Bichette could be a name to watch if the Blue Jays are desperate to move on from him.
