The New York Mets still haven't totally solved center field.
With the chance to add some outfield speed in free agency on Tuesday, they did it.
In the process, the Mets brought back a guy who previously spent time with them: Travis Jankowski.
The official transaction log showed that Jankowski signed a minor league deal and will report to Triple-A Syracuse.
Jankowski began this season with the Tampa Bay Rays, where he hit .244 in 49 plate appearances.
In his career, Jankowski is a .236 hitter.

He also played for the Mets in 2022, when he struggled to a 9-for-44 line.
At 33 years old, Jankowski has been a journeyman after being a first-round choice in 2012 out of Stony Brook.
He has suited up for the Padres, Rangers, Phillies, Mets, Reds, Rays, White Sox and Mariners.
The Mets are probably hoping they can find a better choice to get depth outfield at bats than Jankowski.
But Jankowski has one thing going for him: You know what you're going to get. He's a pretty safe pickup.
