Twins' Joe Ryan breaks silence on trade rumors image

Nobody is safe come trade deadline time.

That includes Minnesota Twins' pitcher Joe Ryan.

It's been an up and down career for the arm. But this season he's allowed 88 hits, notched 137 strikeouts, and an ERA of 2.88 this season.

Questions have arisen about his status leading into the July 31st trade deadline. Ryan publicly refuted the rumors saying he believes he'll be staying in Minnesota.

He also mentioned that anything can happen as the deal is out of his control.

The Twins stand at 50-54, nine games back of Detroit at the top of the division. With each loss they fall closer into the "sell" than "buy" column of traders.

Still, Ryan has spent all five seasons in Minnesota and has been a developing arm for the team. But at some point they need him to round into form and become a dependable arm for the team.

If he can't, Ryan could be on his way out sooner than later.
