The Milwaukee Brewers didn't take long to honor Aaron Civale's trade request.

Part of the reason may be because the offered return was an intriguing one.

According to ESPN's Jesse Rogers, the Brewers are getting Andrew Vaughn in return from the Chicago White Sox for Civale.

Vaughn was the No. 3 overall pick in the 2019 MLB Draft out of Cal.

Now 27 years old, Vaughn hasn't delivered on his potential.

The first baseman has 77 career home runs and a .248 batting average, but as a mediocre fielder at a low-impact defensive position, Vaughn's bat hasn't been good enough.

His best seasons came in 2022 and 2023, with .271-17HR and .258-21HR.

Vaughn struggled early this season, with a .189 average and 43 strikeouts in 185 at bats, so the White Sox sent him to Triple-A.

Things had been rough so far down at Charlotte, where Vaughn was batting .211.

The Brewers likely figure he's worth a flier, though. If Civale didn't want to be around, it's worth getting someone who might still have a bit of untapped upside.

This may end up being a relatively meaningless deal for both sides, but Vaughn tapping into some of his potential is a chance worth taking for Milwaukee.
