The Houston Astros have lost three of their last four games and been outscored 33-4 during that span. The Astros lost two of three against the Baltimore Orioles and lost their series opener to the Detroit Tigers on Monday, and were shutout in all three losses.

Although Houston still leads its division with a 69-56 record, the Astros' struggles date back to the All-Star break. Houston has gone just 9-15 over their last 24 games, and just 18-26 since the All-Star break, allowing the Seattle Mariners to creep within 1.5 games of them for the lead in the AL West.

However, despite the elongated struggles, Astros' third baseman Carlos Correa is confident in his team's ability to turn it around.

Although the Astros traded for Correa at the 2025 MLB trade deadline, he's a vocal, veteran leader in the clubhouse. Correa spent the first seven years of his MLB career in Houston and holds a special presence for the Astros.

Following Monday's 10-0 whooping, Correa expressed to reporters his confidence in the Astros' ability to bounce back.

“It’s not been pretty, it’s not been good," Correa said (h/t MLB.com). "If there is a group of guys that can turn it around, it’s the group in here.”

The Astros are hitting .152 with two extra-base hits in their last four games, and Monday's shutout marked the first time since 2005 Houston had been shutout three times in a four-game span.

However, despite everything seemingly going wrong in the last few days, the Astros remain on top of the AL West because the Mariners have lost five of their last six games.

“We’re first in our division, and we’re in August and our best baseball is yet to come,” Correa said. “I feel good about where we’re at. We got some guys who are getting healthy and they’re going to help down the stretch, and we have a lot of talent in this clubhouse. But we feel great.”

Astros' designated hitter Yordan Alvarez will begin his Minor League rehab assignment on Tuesday, and Houston will have their ace, Hunter Brown, on the mound in Detroit.

The past few days have not been pleasant for the Astros, but Correa is confident his team will turn it around soon.
