The Boston Red Sox started their three-game series against the Houston Astros on the road on Monday. It made for quite the reunion as former Houston slugger Alex Bregman returned to his old stomping grounds. However, he was not the only familiar face to return to Houston, as Carlos Correa was recently acquired by the Astros at the trade deadline.

These two were key factors to Houston winning a World Series title in 2017 and 2022. While Correa has returned in the same orange jersey, Bregman is now sporting Boston's red. Fans were not particularly happy to see him back in Houston sporting his new colors, and after a first-inning home run off Cristian Javier, Bregman was showered with boos from the Houston faithful.

While some players may have felt a certain way, Bregman was happy to see the fans of his former team giving him a hard time after he went deep, via Masslive's Christopher Smith.

"It was great. I loved it. I was hoping they would," said Bregman. "Just because it's two good teams getting after it. They want to win. You know what I mean? Like both teams want to win really badly. It's fun. It's good. It's good for the game."

Despite Bregman going yard in his first at-bat, Houston was able to rally and win the game 7-6. However, Boston would get the better of Houston during Tuesday's game, winning by a score of 14-1, thanks in part to Bregman hitting his second home run in as many days.
