The Chicago Cubs have added outfield help to the roster, as they make a move towards the postseason. The Cubs have acquired Willi Castro from the Minnesota Twins in exchange for prospects.

The 28-year-old from Mexico is hitting .245 on the season, with 10 home runs. He started his career in 2019 with the Detroit Tigers and then came to Minnesota in 2023. Last season, he played in 158 games and hit .247.

Chicago ranks third in all of baseball with a .255 team batting average. They are also third with 158 runs on the season, and also tied for second in stolen bases with 121.

This gives the Chicago Cubs some flexibility in the outfield. Chicago heads into a weekend series against the Baltimore Orioles in second place in the National League Central. Chicago is 63-45 on the season.
