The Boston Red Sox weren't the biggest movers at the trade deadline, and they didn't part ways with one of their big-time prospects.
Heading into the trade deadline, there was speculation that the Red Sox could be going after a starting pitcher, and one name that was brought up was Minnesota Twins ace Joe Ryan.
For the Red Sox to acquire Ryan, they probably had to give up their No. 2 prospect, outfielder Jhostynxon Garcia.
The Red Sox ended up not moving Garcia at the deadline, but there still is a chance he will never play a big league game in Boston.
Katie Manganelli from Fansided thinks Garcia could be moved this offseason due to the logjam in the outfield.

"Like Duran, top prospect Jhostynxon Garcia contributes to the Red Sox's outfield surplus. Garcia is knocking on Fenway Park's doors with a .291/.362/.533 slash line, .895 OPS, 12 homers and 36 RBI in 50 games in Triple-A — even if Rob Refsnyder walks in free agency or retires and Boston selects Garcia for 2026, it will have the same number of outfielders it has this year," Manganelli wrote. Garcia's trade value shot up this year after his outstanding first half, his promotion to Triple-A, and his debut on multiple top-100 prospects lists. The 22-year-old Venezuela native was on deck to be dealt in the Ryan deal if the Red Sox could work something out, highlighting their willingness to trade him."
The Red Sox have enough outfielders now with Roman Anthony and Jarren Duran that they could move Garcia for another position of need this winter.
