The best part about sports is you never know what's going to happen.
And sometimes, you see something you've never seen before.
That's what happened for the Triple-A Norfolk Tide on Tuesday while they took on the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp.
Orioles prospect Roansy Contreras was on the mound for the Tide. And as he began his motion, there was a gigantic clap of thunder.
Contreras, instinctually, stopped his motion.
The umpire had no choice but to call a balk, giving the runner on third a free trot home.
Alright... we don't even know what to say about this. Mother nature and the @JaxShrimp are in cahoots!#SCNotTop10 pic.twitter.com/TZjMZh6ymq

The Tide wound up winning the game, and they celebrated overcoming the "Thunder Balk."
Maybe it wasn't the best idea to be out on the field while such thunder was happening.
But it did lead to this once-in-a-lifetime balk.
