Brian Snitker's future with the Atlanta Braves has come under the microscope in 2025.

The 69-year-old Snitker has been a part of the organization since 1977 as a minor-league catcher. He's managed in every minor-league city you can dream of, and he took the helm of the big-league club nine years ago, leading the Braves to a World Series title in 2021.

This season hasn't gone as planned, though, and it's a double shame because any year at this point could be Snitker's last at the helm. He's also been the subject of controversy for neglecting to bench Jarred Kelenic for his lack of hustle and failing to recognize AJ Smith-Shawver's elbow injury soon enough during the start that ended the hurler's season.

Will 2025 be the final season for Snitker in Atlanta? Insider Jim Bowden of The Athletic reported Thursday that it's been the subject of plenty of conversations around the league, and Snitker isn't the only manager being discussed.

"There is a lot of buzz in the industry that Braves manager Brian Snitker and Rangers manager Bruce Bochy could retire at season’s end, which would be a big loss for the sport," Bowden wrote.

"Both are classy people with impressive track records who have been great for the game. It’s disappointing that both of their teams might look to sell at this year’s deadline. That said, I would never bet against either one of them or the teams they manage."

Entering play Thursday, Snitker has a 764-620 overall record (.552 winning percentage) in the regular season. He's overseen six division titles, a National League Pennant, and a World Series. He was also named NL Manager of the Year in 2018.

As the Braves look to recover from their 28-39 start to the season, the knowledge that Snitker could choose to leave certainly will stick in their minds. They've got seven weeks to turn their record around before the all-important trade deadline.
