The Arizona Diamondbacks are a team that is performing much better as of late, but still has some holes they might need to fill at the trade deadline.
They have won seven of their last 10 games and have gotten back to the .500 mark. One would assume they will be buyers at the trade deadline this summer.
However, their strategy may not be 100 percent certain. They have a few players on expiring contracts.
Jim Bowden of The Athletic predicts that they could shop right-hander Zac Gallen if they end up selling rather than buying.
"The Orioles and Diamondbacks will be the headliners of the trade deadline if they decide to be 'sellers,'" writes Bowden.
"Arizona has four significant impending free agents it could trade including starting pitchers Zac Gallen and Merrill Kelly as well as both of its infield corners, first baseman Josh Naylor and third baseman Eugenio Suárez."

Gallen, a former All-Star, is struggling in 2025. He is 4-8 with a 5.15 ERA in 14 starts with Arizona.
However, rental pitchers often generate solid returns for selling teams, even if they are struggling. A perfect example would be the haul the Toronto Blue Jays received last year for Yusei Kikuchi.
Gallen has been a Cy Young contender in recent years, and when he is right, he can still be one of Major League Baseball's most dominant starting pitchers.
Last season, he went 14-6 with a 3.65 ERA in 28 starts and 148 innings of work. If he can bounce back later this year and repeat that performance, he could be a highly sought-after name at the trade deadline.
It will be interesting to see which way Arizona leans.
