Wales’ Richie Burnett and Kurt Parry took the early lead on Monday, in ending Day One of Group A, top, after completing a clean sweep with five wins from five, with the inaugural International Pairs Week commencing at the Modus Super Series. 

1995 Lakeside World Champion, Burnett, thrived alongside his Welsh compatriot Kurt Parry as the pair stormed into the lead in Group A, completing a clean sweep with five wins from five.

The duo recorded victories against Craig Galliano & Justin Hewitt (Gibraltar), Brian Raman & Xanti Van den Bergh (Belgium), Mervyn King & Steve West (England), Jimmy Van Schie & Danny Van Trijp (Netherlands) and Scott Campbell & John Henderson (Scotland), to sit on a maximum 10 points from a possible 10 thus far.  

Elsewhere, Van Schie & Van Trijp ended the day in 2nd on 8 points, whilst King & West sit in 3rd on 6 points, Raman & Van den Bergh in 4th on 4 points, Campbell & Henderson in 5th on 2 points and Galliano & Hewitt bottom on 0 points, having suffered five straight defeats.  

The MODUS Super Series continues on Tuesday with the six players returning, hoping to boost their chances of securing a place in Saturday’s Finale, with Burnett and Parry leading the way thus far. Play will begin at 9:30am BST and will be streamed live on the MODUS Super Seres YouTube channel, Pluto TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
