The 10 best cricket teams on the planet are about to battle for the ICC ODI World Cup, as the 13th edition of the tournament gets underway in India.

The action runs from October 5 to November 19, with the hosts among the favourites to lift the trophy, along with defending champions England and arch-rivals Pakistan. 

The teams will play in a round-robin format against each other, before the top four qualify for the semi-finals and then the action progresses to the final.

Here's all you need to know about how to watch the action unfold from North America.

Where to watch ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in the USA and Canada: TV and live stream details online

There are a number of ways to watch the ICC Cricket World Cup in North America, both via TV/cable, as well as via live stream.

Willow TV, which is North America's only dedicated cricket channel, is available on most satellite and cable networks for a  monthly subscription fee or as part of Sports Packages or South Asian packages —.including as part of Hindi, Telugu, Urdu, Tamil and Bangla packages on Sling.

Willow has rights to most major ICC and some leading domestic tournaments, such as the IPL.

In the USA, cricket fans can also watch the action from the ICC ODI World Cup via ESPN+, which plans to show all 48 matches from the tournament live.

The tournament comes just in time to take advantage of the last few days of ESPN's current pricing structure of $9.99 per month ($99.99 annually), before the streaming platform's new price of $10.99 a month ($109.99) takes effect from October 12.

What time are ICC Cricket World Cup matches in USA?

Cricket World Cup matches will generally take place at 2 p.m. local time IST in India, which translates to an early start for fans in North America.

In the USA, where the next T20 World Cup takes place in 2024, matches begin at 4.30 a.m. ET for the start of the tournament, and 3.30 a.m. ET once the clocks change for the latter part of the tournament on November 5.

There will also be a handful of games in the 10.30 a.m. IST slot, which translates to 1 a.m. ET, or midnight from November 5.
