Top Rank looks to showcase its top international stars when it returns to Japan on January 23. Kenshiro Teraji defends the WBA, WBC, and The Ring light flyweight titles against Carlos Canizales. The fight and undercard action airs on ESPN+ in the U.S.

The son of former Japanese boxing star Hisashi Teraji, Kenshiro turned pro in 2014. "The Amazing Boy" defeated Ganigan Lopez in 2017 for the WBC light flyweight title and made eight defenses before losing to Masamichi Yabuki in 2021. Since then, Teraji avenged the Yabuki setback to reclaim the title and beat Hiroto Kyoguchi to add the WBA belt to his collection. His last fight was a TKO win in September against Hekkie Budler.

Canizales turned pro in 2014. "CCC" fought Ryoichi Taguchi to a draw in 2016 for the WBA light flyweight title but captured it in 2018 against Reiya Konishi. The Venezuelan lost the belt against Esteban Bermudez in 2021 and has since won four in a row.
