Will it be a repeat or revenge when Adrian Curiel defends the IBF light flyweight title against former champion Sivenathi Nontshinga on February 16? The fight in Mexico airs on DAZN.

Curiel turned pro in 2016. "Gatito" lost against Cristian Gonzalez Hernandez in 2021 and has gone on a nine-fight unbeaten streak since. Facing Nontshinga in November, Curiel knocked him out in the second round, landing a right hand that stunned Nontshinga and dropped him to the floor. The fight was deemed The Sporting News’ 2023 Upset of the Year.

Nontshinga turned pro in 2017. He beat Hector Flores Calixto in September 2022 to win the IBF light flyweight title. After successfully defending it once, Nontshinga lost it against Curiel.

Before the loss, Nontshinga was getting ready to fight the likes of Jonathan Gonzalez and Kenshiro Teraji, the other champions in the division. “Special One” looks to get back on track and halt the momentum of Curiel.
