There's no one like Mondo Duplantis.
That was true before Tuesday, but in case anyone needed a reminder, the legendary Swedish pole vaulter provided it.
Duplantis set the world record, again. It's the 13th time he has set a new top mark ever.
The Swede was vaulting at the Gyulai Istavan Memorial meet in Budapest.
And after one miss at the world record height, Duplantis got it:
6.29 meters.
That's the equivalent of 20 feet, 7.64 inches.
Just watch. Absolute magic.

The day didn't start perfectly for Duplantis. He needed two attempts just to clear the opening height.
But then he got rolling and soared higher than anyone ever had.
Duplantis first broke the world record in 2020, when he went 6.17 meters.
Since then, he's gone up incrementally, by a hundredth of a meter with each record break.
He has broken the world record three times in 2025.

Duplantis is 25 years old, so he might keep on flying higher.
He's certainly proven that no one can sky as high as him.
