The Australian Boomers have named a youthful squad ahead of the FIBA Asia Cup 2025, following a four-day training camp on the Gold Coast.

The squad features eight NBL players, headlined by Melbourne United's Next Star Dash Daniels, and Illawarra Hawks guard Davo Hickey, fresh off winning the championship.

Adding to the young stars is a mix of veterans, including 2024 Olympians Will Magnay and Jack McVeigh, along with experienced Boomers Xavier Cooks and Jack White.

"We couldn’t be more excited about this group representing Australia and the dedication they’ve shown to the Boomers program," head coach Adam Caporn said.

"It’s been a strong competitive start to camp, and we feel we’re building something special from these early foundations."

The Boomers will continue their preparations on Thursday, July 31, with an exhibition game against the University of Colorado on the Gold Coast. Tip-off set for 6:30 p.m. AEST.

Australia is looking to make it a 3-peat of Asia Cup victories, having won the tournament in 2017 and 2022. They have been drawn in Group A, alongside South Korea, Qatar, and 2022 finalists Lebanon.
