The Australian Boomers advance to the FIBA Asia Cup final, thanks to a 92-48 win over Iran.

It was a closely contested first period as the Aussies took just a seven-point lead into first-quarter time. However, the tide started to turn in the second period as Harry Wessels and William Hickey consistently got to the rim.

Adam Caporn's men went to the half with 22-point advantage, and from there continued to pile on the pressure, maintaining a double-digit lead the rest of the way.

The night was owed to Australia's bench unit, as Jack McVeigh was the only starter to notch double-digit points.

He knocked-down four of his eight field goals - including three from beyond the arc - and racked up another six-points at the free throw line to bring his tally to 17 on the night.

The near perfect efficiency of Wessels (60 per cent from the field) and Jack White (80 per cent from the field) shone, while Hickey impressed with 14 points, six rebounds, and six assists.

For Iran, Sina Vahedi led the way with a team-high 11 points on two-from-seven from the three-point line, while Mobin Sheikhi and Arsalan Kazemi both had three assists.

The Boomers will now face China in the final, after they took care of business against New Zealand on Saturday night.
