The Australian Boomers capped off their FIBA Asia Cup preparations with a 93-87 win over the University of Colorado on the Gold Coast.

The Boomers trailed 44-43 at the half before outscoring Colorado 27-18 in the third quarter to take an eight-point lead into the final frame.

Jalin Holland's 3-pointer got the Buffaloes to within one point with 6:16 remaining in the fourth, but that's as close as they got, before buckets from Xavier Cooks and Jack White restored the Boomers' advantage.

Jack McVeigh, who had the hot hand from deep, iced the game with his fifth 3-pointer of the night to put the Boomers up 88-80.

McVeigh led three players in double-figure scoring with 20 points and seven assists on 7-of-15 shooting and 5-of-12 from beyond the arc, while Jaylin Galloway added 16 points and five rebounds. Reyne Smith chipped in with 11 points and four boards.

Isaiah Johnson led Colorado with 19 points off the bench, while Sebastian Ranick added 16 points and five rebounds.

The Boomers will now turn their focus to the Asia Cup, which gets underway next week in Saudi Arabia, with their first group stage matchup against South Korea on Wednesday, August 6.
